Introduction
These photographs were taken last year at the time of the World Cup by Imke Oppenkamp and they were the original inspiration for Popcultured. We started to look into the idea of putting together a website for photographic essays on popular culture, a website that could possibly become a publishing company that would release books as well as showing work online. Some of the work would stem from long term projects but quite often some of our essays (or photo albums) would just be short term random ones. When we talked about starting Popcultured last summer, Imke was doing these photographs of World Cup decorated houses in Liverpool and we decided to rush out a set of postcards. But, before we got the chance, England were out and the decor came down. But it would be ashame to waste them.
